HCC ANNOUNCES REGISTRATION FOR 2010-11 EXTENDED DAY KINDERGARTEN PROGRAM (EDKP)

Registration for the 2010-11 session of the HCC Extended Day Kindergarten Program (EDKP) will open at the Haddonfield Public School Kindergarten Registration Day, January 28, 2010 at 7:30 a.m., at Central School.

Space in the Extended Day Kindergarten Program is limited, and enrollment is on a first-come, first-served basis. Parents who definitely need the program are urged to arrive first thing in the morning to secure a slot in EDKP.

Registration for EDKP is separate and distinct from kindergarten registration. In order to register for the EDKP, parents must provide the following:

• a signed copy of the 2010-11 HCC Enrollment Agreement
• a completed 2010-11 HCC Registration Form
• a check for the $50 registration fee, made payable to "HCC."

These forms are available in advance on this website, the Haddonfield Public Schools website, or from the HCC Office; however, no registrations for new families will be accepted prior to Kindergarten Registration Day.

The Extended Day Kindergarten Program, which provides wraparound child care for the half day kindergarten sessions, is open to all children enrolled in the Haddonfield Public School kindergartens. HCC is a private, non-profit organization, which works cooperatively with the public schools to provide care for working families. The program is tuition based, with a yearly fee divided into ten equal monthly installments. Tuition is billed in advance, and based on the registered schedule of attendance.

Care is available as early as 7:30 a.m., and as late as 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, on days when school is in session. The EDKP is housed at Central School, with transportation provided to or from J. F. Tatem and Elizabeth Haddon kindergartens.

The EDKP is licensed by the State of NJ, and meets or exceeds all programmatic, staffing, and safety standards set by the licensing agency. The program, which has been in operation since 1986, is designed to complement the kindergarten curriculum with developmentally appropriate activities including arts, literature, and physical activity.

After January 28, registration for EDKP must be done in person at the HCC Office, located in Room B105 at Haddonfield High School. Please note that mail or internet registration will not be accepted for EDKP.

To assist parents with additional questions, HCC Staff will participate in the public school Kindergarten information night. Further information about EDKP may also be obtained by calling the HCC Office at 429-1603.

TO REGISTER:

Please submit this completed registration form.  There is a non-refundable yearly registration fee of $50.00 (first child) plus $25.00 for each additional child.  Checks should be made payable to "HADDONFIELD CHILD CARE.” Fall registrations received after June 1st are subject to a $15.00 additional charge; after August 1st, the additional fee is $25.00.   These fees, plus a signed Enrollment Agreement (available for download) must be mailed to the HCC Office immediately in order to complete the registration.  Please note that your registration will not be processed until these items are all received.

Upon receipt of all registration materials, additional paperwork necessary to complete enrollment will be sent to you. Your enrollment will be considered complete once all required fees and additional entrance paperwork have been received by HCC. In order to begin on September 2 or 3, children must be fully enrolled by August 21 at 3:00 p.m. The HCC Office will be closed to the public from August 24 through 28, and will re-open August 31. Beginning that date, all children fully enrolled by any Tuesday at 3:00 p.m. will be able to begin the following Monday.

IN ADDITION, FOR EXTENDED DAY KINDERGARTEN PROGRAM (EDKP) REGISTRANTS ONLY:
Please note that EDKP space is extremely limited. Registration is on a first-come, first served basis, and must be made in person, either at HPS Kindergarten Registration Day, or at the HCC Office after that date. Please note that an additional non-refundable $100 tuition deposit will be required for each EDKP registrant by March (or upon registration) in order to continue to hold a space.

Once both your Registration and Enrollment Agreement are received in the HCC office, you will be responsible for paying the first full month's tuition for the schedule you have indicated, as well as all other tuition policies as outlined in the Enrollment Agreement.

Please be aware that on-line registration does not complete the registration process. You will immediately receive an acknowledgement that your on-line registration was sent. You must keep this for your records to verify the date of your registration in case of a computer error. If you do NOT receive an acknowledgement, you may either try registering again, or call the office to see if the registration was received.

After completing the on-line registration, the next step is to download a copy of the Enrollment Agreement and mail it with a check for the full registration fee. Once these items are received in the HCC Office, your registration is considered complete, and a full Enrollment Package will be mailed to you.

Your child may begin attending when the HCC Office acknowledges receipt of your enrollment materials and gives you a starting date. The date your child may begin depends upon when the completed materials have been received. To expedite the process, you may come to the HCC Office (Room B105 at Haddonfield Memorial High School) and complete the paperwork in person. In any case, please anticipate a wait of up to one to two weeks before your child may begin.
